The graphic novel, based on a popular story about the adventures of a private detective in a magical Russian Empire and created with the participation of Black PurPur Studio, combines elements of mystery, detective fiction, and alternative history.
The story takes place in Saint Petersburg in 1982. Private detective Hermes Averin is assigned a case involving the murder of a nobleman’s son, with suspicion falling on a div — a magical creature from the Wasteland that loses control at the sight of blood.
As the investigation unfolds, Averin begins to realize that the crime is not an isolated incident and that a far more dangerous force lies behind it.
The graphic novel conveys an atmosphere of mysticism, investigative tension, and an alternative reality through the language of visual storytelling.
